Captchas and anonymous posting

Good evening!

I don't have too much time recently. However, even after adding extra challenge to the new user registration process the bots kept registering - not only few fake users per day.

So I decided to immediately spent some time on the problem and - hopefully - found a good solution:

To register, you will have to negotiate a Captcha. After that, you will never again have to do that. However, this allows us also to enable anonymous posting in our forum again.

Creating new accounts now requires administrator approval

G'day to everyone.

Please note, that when creating a new account, you will need approval by an administrator in the future. We got spammed recently, and until we find a good captcha plugin for our system, admin approval is the safest way to check if you're a bot generated person or not ;)

So, please use a "real" nickname when registering, because we will mostly decide about approval or disapproval by judging your nick!

Flyff DataMob

Preview version of Natter 0.0.2 available

A good day to everybody!

After we had fairly a lot of struggling the last days we now finally managed to build a working version of the upcoming version 0.0.2 of Natter for Windows.

The new version will have some really interesting changes, despite the most important will probably not be seen be the most of you: Langadia++ (and with it Natter) now uses OpenGL for drawing! This allows us to integrate some interesting effects into Natter. One can be seen easily: Whenever you change from one menu to another, the screen now fades over.

Disabled (again) anonymous posting

As the title says: I once more disabled anonymous posting in our forums. Till now, anybody really used this feature and recently a lot of spam appeared.
I'm sorry as I know that a lot of people are not interested in registering at a website just to give feedback by posting, however, we neither have the time nor enough nerve to delete a dozen spam posts per day.

Anyway, posting comments anonymously is still allowed, however the posts appear only after being reviewed by an administrator, so don't wonder where your comment is, it may take a while before it is published by us.

Forum policy changed

Good evening!

I changed the policy for our forums today: From now on, you can post new topics without need to register! This "feature" has been introduced not without a lot of headache before. I very well remember the last time I allowed this, and it ended in turning of anonymous posting rather soon. However, we will see...

Have a lot of fun ;-)

New Forum style

We switched the style of our forum today:
Before, we used Drupal's default forum layout, which uses a tree-like display and looks like the comment trees in the rest of the site.

The new module allows a more traditional layout for the forum, as it is provided by famous software as phpBB.

Silent update to Natter 0.0.1.2

Good evening to everybody!
After uploading a new source code version of Natter the last days, I now also pushed the binary versions for Linux 32bit and 64bit online. As usual, the game can be downloaded from our Download Centre.
Note, that the Windows version is not yet updated! We currently encounter some heavy problems with it, so it might be a matter of a few days before it is updated, too.

... and back again!

Hey, it is finally done!

After we began the transition of our domains to a new provider last week, the whole thing is done now! As promised, for you nothing changed. We are still reachable by our domains rpdev.net, nomangames.com and nomangames.de.
Also, all the old content has been uploaded and is already available for you. However, we cannot say for sure if it will work as it used to. So, if you find something that does not seem to work correctly, feel free to report it to us.

We are moving!

After nearly two years at Strato we will move to another web hoster soon. We will re-setup the site there as it was here, so no information will be lost (at last we hope so).

However, chances are, that our website will not be accessible for some time. We will also need to switch the main site ( http://www.rpdev.net/home/ ) to maintenance mode; however, we will try our best to keep the site accessible as long as possible.

After the move we will still be reachable through the rpdev.net domain and the two old NMG domain names nomangames.com and nomangames.de.
