The following article describes how to set up a new project on this website in terms of publishing. Other steps might vary from project to project (such as version control and such stuff).
Creating the project
The first thing you should do is to create a page for the new project. Log in an select Create Content -> Project. Fill in the required fields. The most important are
- Full Project Name
- The name of the project as it appears in listings.
- Short Project Name
- A short form of the project. This is especially used in the project's URL.
- Description
- The description which is shown on the projects page.
Please do not create something else than a project for this purpose. This is because using the Project content type enables some further functionality (such as bug tracking) which we do not get with other content types. Furthermore, even as it is possible to have the Project and its website split up into two distinct pages, it introduces only additional confusion.
Linking the Project
After you created the project, it should appear in the project navigator (usually located in the left side bar). However, you are encouraged to add a link in the appropriate Products subsection.
Releasing a Version
To release a version of your project, go to Create Content -> Project Release. Now, simply follow the instruction given to you. Please note, that we don't use Drupals internal upload mechanisms for uploading, so please simply link to the download location of the release in the text.
